is Cologne’s central cemetery and is very much alive. It is home to art, social, family and city history, Cologne anecdotes and celebrity worship – and, last but not least, a variety of plants and animals. With over 50,000 graves, Melaten Cemetery is Cologne’s largest cemetery.
